House and Food

Our fantastic Thailand house is set on a jungle-covered hillside just north of Chiang Mai town, giving it a more authentically Thai feel than the relatively touristy town centre while still be handy for the hospitals. It's a traditional style house built from Teak wood with a huge garden, open-air terraces and a gorgeous swimming pool surrounded by giant bamboo plants!

The Gap Medics House in Chiang Mai, ThailandThere are seven bedrooms between the main house and separate cottages, comfortably sleeping up to 24 people and simply but comfortably furnished with bunk beds, mosquito nets and storage space. Both the kitchen and the main living areas open onto outside terraces to make the most of northern Thailand's tropical climate after a hard day at the hospital.

Food is definitely a highlight of any visit to Thailand, and our full-time chef will ensure you get to enjoy the region's huge range of flavours using local, seasonal ingredients and traditional cooking methods. As with all our houses, the kitchen is very much part of the social space and helping the chef prepare dinner is a great way to get some free Thai cookery lessons!
